According to Louise: Make Me Blush

Soft Modern Pant

This week’s Fashion Star challenge – It Takes Two – involved the designers pairing up to create a cohesive look, using separate pieces. This is a brilliant way to channel one of my favorite trends for spring: romance. Soft, feminine textures and silhouettes were all over the runways: think lace, light colored leather, voluminous A-line skirts and softly draped trousers, just like Silvia’s, bought by Erika at Express. The slouch pant is one of the coolest, carefree items to add to your closet and here’s how to give it a gorgeous, romantic twist.

Pair your pants with print: a long-sleeve, rolled-shoulder blouse in 70’s paisley or 50’s polka dot print will give the look a wistful, romantic vibe. Finish off the look with giant brown sunglasses or cat-eye shades, depending on the era you’ve opted for.

Peter Pan them: add a Peter Pan collar to your shirt – these can be bought separately and immediately give your look a girly edge.

Add a shout shoe: patent heels in dusky pink or peach look beautiful with a tapered trouser. If you’re more of a tomboy, experiment with the androgynous ethereal look, with a pair of white flat brogues.

Get in the nude: look for accessories that have a touch of blush in their colour – a clutch, cocktail ring, hat – these will all amp up the romance.
